This is very motivating and good to see professional producers and their supporting allies being together. I personally find the practice of awarding farmer of the year and woman entrepreneur of the year very encouraging. I hope, there is a possibility for small holders also be part of the potential awardee. I would appreciate if the conference papers and other country specific national policy papers and strategies on rural advisory services are also shared in the blog please.
Congrats & Thanks Kristin !! for an inspiring write-up indeed !! the points to ponder over and act upon as lessons for other countries & In India in particular are 1.The South Africa is in the process of passing a policy for extension through parliament, and have just provided professional registration for extension agents.,2.Extension professionals require new capacities to deal with the changing environment, 3. They have developed a web page to collect/share views on National Extension Policy. They are making efforts to professionalize Extension service by making needed interventions. May be we can draw lessons from these experiences shared here.
