Congrats Good efforts of utilizing resources including full time. The PMs acquire same recognition as in past/ olden days.
Congratulations to Dr. Roy Burman and team. Still remains many prospective stakeholders like SHGs and para professionals whose potential can be harnessed to enhance rural service delivery.
Dr Roy Burman and other authors are doing wonderful work under the guidance of Dr J P Sharma who initiated this project when he was Head Extension at IARI. I must congratulate them. I would suggest that some experiment may be done with Post Offices by not providing input or putting a price tag on the efforts being made by very senior scientists of IARI.It is a very good concept which may be taken up by other organisations.
This is an innovative idea to make good use of Post Office and its staff, which otherwise are idle in the age of mobiles, courier and internet. On a pilot basis, postal Department in Andhra & Telangana is working on a project to help the farmers in marketing their produce. The postal staff takes photos of the farm produce of the farmers and uploads them on the websites. Buyers can access the details and buy directly from the farmers. The postal department will also provide logistic support to this end. Also read: http://www.igovernment.in/.../ap-telangana-post-office...
